Good news, another missing person found alive. Yesterday the team deployed to assist Northamptonshire Police in a search for a missing person. The team planners analysed the information, using statistical planning and experience deployed teams to locations of high probability. Foot teams on scene rapidly located the missing person who was poorly, at almost the same time as two members of the public. A team doctor and 3 first responders began treatment, while the teams off road ambulance and support vehicle were deployed to the location. The missing person being transported in our vehicle to a waiting East Midlands Ambulance Service vehicle, and a location coordinated using what3words. Another life saved. We also wish to extend thanks to two dog walkers who were on scene at the same point as the team, and want to thank Services Club Desborough for allowing us the use of their carpark and facilities. Thanks to Leicestershire Search and Rescue for support also.

Yesterday, NSAR's swift water rescue technicians went for a 'splash' in Earls Barton. This is the first time the swift water team have gotten together to train since the National lockdown was implemented and it went very well. Apart from one member getting his car stuck in the mud. This was also the second time the team got hands on with our new rescue sled which is a vital bit of equipment should a person need rescuing from the water. Let us know if you would like to know more about our Swift Water Rescue team!

Team member, and dog handler 🐕 Ian has set himself an “unknown” challenge and you can all play a part! In Ian’s words - “Anyone that knows me knows that Search and Rescue is a major part of me. That is why I have set myself Challenge Unknown! Why is it unknown? Because you set it, the more you donate the harder my challenge. Every £1 I raise through the just giving page I will walk or run 1Km! How generous are you feeling, or should that be how mean do you want to be to me!” Click here to go to Ian's Justgiving page

Today we've been maintaining some of our team equipment, washing all three vehicles, checking water rescue kit and cleaning a sticky lock barrel. Is there anything our amazing volunteers can't do? Thanks to Aaron, Chris, Dave and Ian for their efforts today.

Some words from ourselves on this theft “The theft is not only removing a valuable service, but a theft from the community itself who have donated and made their work possible. So when thieves do this, it is not just an attack on the charity, but an attack on the people around us, and our own community.” Any information please contact Northamptonshire Police STOLEN our Red Cross Emergency Response vehicle was taken last night from Moulton Park if seen please contact Northampton Police.

We regret to bring you news that one of our clothing recycling bins at Stanion Village Hall has suffered fire damage. We don't know why or how but early evidence suggests this was not accidental. For the time being, the bin is out of action. We will attempt to get the bin replaced as soon as possible (hopefully next week) but in the mean time, if you have any unwanted clothes, could you please either keep hold of them or visit one of our other sites in Corby which are: Kingswood Neighbourhood Centre, Corby Harpers Brook Pub, Corby Corby Conservative Club, Corby It has been a tough year for the team on the fundraising front, but our clothing bins have been a great success story thanks to the generosity of Northamptonshire residents. Rest assured it won't cost us a penny to have the bin repaired and replaced, but any donations will replace the money we would have received from the clothes that have been destroyed. We thank you all for your continued support.

Big thanks to PEUGEOT Richard Sanders for servicing our ICU rapidly to reduce time off the road. This is a critical piece of equipment for our rescue missions. If you can help a few pounds, perhaps the same as a take away coffee, you can help us keep our equipment like this ready and safe to use.
Thank You Peugeot Richard Sanders! (11/09/20) content media

(NCF) to help us throughout the Covid-19 period.During the last few months we have been fortunate enough to have received two grants from Northamptonshire Community Foundation It is therefore our pleasure to try and give something back to them and play our part by advertising a local musical project. The One Voice Album is a collection that brings together songs recorded during the coronavirus pandemic by nearly 30 of the best known singer-songwriters and music groups from across the county. The project has been put together by musician and producer Tommy Gardner, who in July appealed for performers interested in featuring on the compilation to get in touch. Mr Gardner was inspired to put the compilation together after seeing performances online by groups and musicians who have been unable to play in venues because of the Coronavirus. All proceeds from the sales and online streams will be donated to theNorthamptonshire Community Foundation as part of its Coronavirus Response and Recovery fund. If you have an interest in local musicians and are able to contribute, or would simply like to support NCF, then The One Voice Album is out now and you can get your copy from www.onevoicenorthants.co.uk along with mugs and t-shirts. The money will go straight back into the Northamptonshire Community Foundation and then back out into the community again.
