At 12:46hrs, NSAR were called out by Northamptonshire Police to provide assistance in the search of a vulnerable missing person in the Daventry area of the county.

We quickly mobilised our Incident Control Unit, 'Brenda', together with our 2 other vehicles, 'Poppy' and 'Amy', and established an RVP at the Middlemore Farm Pub car park.

Over the course of the next few hours, 19 NSAR members plus members from nearby Warwickshire Search & Rescue commenced a search of the local area. The 'on foot' search teams were supported by our drone team and Ted and his dog handler Ian. A total of 145 person hours were involved in this search.

The teams set out to search an area covering a 2.3 kilometre radius from the last known sighting of the missing person, covering residential areas, open ground, dense woodland, reservoirs and a country park.

Late into the evening the missing person was located by Northamptonshire Police, was provided with the assistance they needed and is now safe and well. Special thanks to Warwickshire Search & Rescue for supporting NSAR and to the public for sharing the appeal from Northamptonshire Police on social media.

Another successful outcome!
