Wonderful to see His Royal Highness visiting our sister Lowland Rescue team, Community Rescue Service.
"SPECIAL VISITOR TO CRS
Today our volunteers of the Community Rescue Service were delighted to be visited by HRH Prince William as a part of the National Emergency Services Day. Prince William was greeted by CRS Regional Commander Sean McCarry, Chair Jonathan Patton, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant Mukesh Sharma and the Belfast Lord Mayor Frank McCoubrey.
The Prince spent the afternoon with us at Belfast Castle where, having been presented with his own search managers jacket and CRS hat he met with volunteers from our Emergency Response Bikes before joining some of our search teams in a search exercise.
Following his spending some time with some of our volunteers from our Water and Technical Rescue Team, the Prince met with some of our Support Team and Charity Shop volunteers before completing his visit with an informal discussion regarding the impact of searches on the psychological wellbeing of our volunteers and other issues around Mental Health, topics very much in his focus.
We thank Prince William for taking the time to visit with us."
