Assisting Leicestershire Search & Rescue

Updated: Sep 9, 2021

On the morning of 6th September, we were contacted by Leicestershire Search & Rescue to provide assistance in the search of a vulnerable missing person in the village of Swinford.

Swinford sits just over the border from Northamptonshire so was easily accessible for a number of NSAR members who made themselves available at various times through this 2 day search.

Battling 28 degree heat (where was that in the summer holidays???), the team searched large areas of farmland, villages and woodland until darkness fell on Monday evening. The search resumed on Tuesday morning and we are pleased to report that the Misper was found safe and well in the village on the afternoon of the 7th September.

4 NSAR members supported Leicestershire in this search, together with colleagues from Warwickshire Search and rescue as well as the local Police. Congratulations to Lesley, who completed her first live search after recently qualifying as a search technician.
